Welcome Back!

Thank you to all of the parents for a wonderful Semester 1 and welcome back to school for Term 3!

We have lots of exciting things happening this term such as Cross Country, Faction Carnival, Parent Learning Journeys and the Life Education Van incursion (to name a few).

Just a reminder that school photos will be taking place on Wednesday 25^thJuly. We also have the Bush Tucker incursion in week 2 for NAIDOC week.

To assist you with your child’s learning below is an outline of what we will be working on throughout the term.

Literacy

·      Writing - narratives, poetry, procedures and reports

·      Punctuation - commas, speech marks and ellipses

·      Reading comprehension skills and reading more difficult texts

·      Introduction to figurative language, including using similes and personification

Numeracy

·      Column addition and subtraction with and without regrouping

·      Counting by 2, 3, 5, 10s and learning the relevant times tables to go with these

·      Multiplication and division

·      Fractions

·      Money

·      Numero game and challenges

·      Measurement including mass, capacity, length and volume

·      Telling the time

Science

·      Chemical Science

History and Social Sciences

·      Geography

You can assist our Geography knowledge by having access to a world map at home. We will be focussing on labelling a map of Australia including states and territories, capital cities and oceans surrounding Australia. We will then be looking at labelling the continents of the world and oceans.

Health

·      CHAT program which focuses on Drug Education
