On Wednesday 21st
March, Wattle Grove celebrated Harmony Day in great style! It was so special to
see all of the Year Twos dressed in outfits that represented their cultural
backgrounds. Room 15 were lucky enough to show off their garments in a morning
parade with their buddy class, the Year 5s from Room 18.
Later that day we
joined our buddy class again to construct our own harmony trees. Working
together students created hand cut-outs decorated in images that embodied their
individual cultural backgrounds. Harmony Day is such an important and wonderful
way to celebrate the diversity we are lucky to have at Wattle Grove and it was
thoroughly enjoyed by both students and teachers.
